Microsoft Resolves ASUS Laptop Blue Screen Issues with Windows 11 Update

Microsoft has successfully addressed blue screen of death (BSOD) problems affecting specific ASUS laptop models, enabling more users to upgrade to Windows 11 version 24H2. The tech giant recently updated its Windows release health dashboard to announce the rollout of a BIOS update provided by ASUS that resolves compatibility issues.

The update primarily impacts ASUS X415KA and X515KA laptop models, which previously experienced critical installation challenges during the Windows 11 24H2 upgrade process. Devices running BIOS versions lower than 311 were blocked from upgrading, preventing users from accessing the latest Windows version.

Microsoft explicitly stated that affected users must install the latest BIOS update to remove the existing safeguard and proceed with the Windows 11, version 24H2 upgrade. The BIOS update is categorized as a Critical Update (CU) and is conveniently available through Windows Update.

Users wanting to prepare their ASUS PCs for the Windows 11 24H2 upgrade are recommended to navigate to Settings > Windows Update and install the BIOS update. The safeguard will gradually be lifted as more devices receive the update, ensuring a smoother transition for ASUS laptop owners.

This resolution follows Microsoft's ongoing efforts to address compatibility issues and provide a seamless upgrade experience for Windows 11 users across different device configurations.
